Worth remembering that the Duke of Devonshire owned a lot of land in that area. Your Alsop's might be tenant farmers, therefore it might be worth while looking at the Duke of Devonshire records as well if the Tithe map does not show them.

Hi Ian. Sorry for the delay in replying to you - I had forgotten I'd be away this week. Unfortunately, there were no old 'uns around when I called into the pub last Saturday but one of the young lads told me there were a lot of Alsops in the area. I'll PM you with more info.
