    Default Robert/Jacob Marshall Hayfield Derbyshire

Intuitively I feel that Robert Marshall b. 1808 is my GGG grandad but I can find no documented evidence of his birth (Hayfield) or marriage to Millicent b.1810 Mason? (Chapel en le Frith)
Robert and Millicent are found together in most census up to and including1881 in Northgate street in Stockport but I need to find some evidence of their marriage and her maiden name
I would be interested in any information regarding these two.
I am also trying to find a link between Robert and Jacob Marshall b.1814 also in Hayfield but have been unsuccessful so far.
    Regards

    Linda

    Dear gasser,
Thank you so much, I now have some family members which is always helpful as a family group is easier to trace than one individual I needed to find the evidence and was actually going to make a trip to Hayfield and surrounding areas in the Spring. In fact I may still make the trip
I am certain now that this is the marriage as in one of the census I found Sarah at home with Jacob (1814) and his wife Margaret. This record opens up a whole new line of research leading to New Zealand.
If you need any look-ups in Gwynedd (Merioneth) or surrounding areas, let me know.
    Thanks again

    Hi Ron,
I am amazed you have found this marriage, I have searched everywhere for it, obviously not everywhere and probably in all the wrong places
I felt intuitively that Millicent was Mason but on A**estry there are a couple of trees which go back a long way who have Millicent as Millicent Barlow, however, all the children born in Stockport 1 district from 1837 onwards have the mothers maiden Name as Mason.
Thank you so much - if you need any look-ups around Gwynedd (Merioneth) please let me know and I will try my best.
    Regards
