    Thank you

And to make matters even better, I found, purely by accident, a posting that referred to his grave. So on Boxing Day (co-incidentally, the 91st anniversary of poor Wesley's accident), I went along to St Peters Church in Radford. Most of the gravestones have gone, but a few are left, including his. He shares it with his in-laws and a baby.

He married into the Smith family, so the headstone helped confirm which ones, plus the baby was born and died between censuses, so yet more clues!

I'm not the most patient person in the world, but the five year wait has produced such grreat results. Only wish I could share them with my Mum, who told me the gist of the story, but did not know all the details. (I like to think they've met up somewhere 'up there' and she'll find out first-hand! ).

If anyone cares to look, more detail can be found here
