You all have been so helpfull, so I hope you could help with a another brick wall.
Need a fresh set of eyes.
Elizabeth Trott, formerly Coole, born 1844 Bristol (have birth and marriage certificate) married William Charles Trott in 1866.
By 1881 Elizabeth is a widow. Have found 2 entries but not sure if its the correct Elizabeth.
1st entry, Elizabeth is a lodger, born 1847 Bristol. occupation Fish Hawker, but according to the census she is married.
2nd entry, Eliza A Widow, born 1845 Bristol. Occupation Nurse, has 3 sons age 16, 14 and 12, living in London,
On the 1891 census Elizabeth's occupation is a nurse, she is living with her sister Matilda back in Bristol. But on the 1871 census she is living in Bedminster Bristol with her husband William and neice Florence Coole age 7, no other children
Any help would be appreciated.

You can eliminate the second entry as being your Elizabeth Trott. As you mentioned she is at RG11; Piece: 707; Folio: 6; Page: 5; on the 1881 census with the three sons.
On the 1871 census she is found in Greenwich RG10; Piece: 744; Folio: 64; Page: 16, widowed with the same three sons.

Elizabeth Trott nee Coole.
Hi, looking at the information you have, it seems difficult to believe that Elizabeth , fish hawker in 1881 would be the same person as Elizabeth, professional nurse in 1891.
The details for Eliza Ann, show that she cannot be your Elizabeth. She in fact is Eliza Ann Gerrish who married Arthur Caffrey Trott 10 Sept. 1865.
What I find particularly interesting is that Eliza Ann's second son was named William C. Trott. Since your Elizabeth was married to William Charles Trott I wondered if there was any family connection between Elizabeth and Eliza Ann. Possibly Arthur Caffrey Trott and William Charles Trott could have been brothers. Both Elizabeth and Eliza Ann were born in Bristol, had Trott as their married name and both became nurses.
The 1871 census shows Elizabeth with her husband William and niece Florence A Cooke (presumably mis-transcribed from Coole) while the 1891 census shows Eliza Ann with her third son Sydney and a boarder Herbert Coope ( a mis-transcription of Coole?).
Very odd that there is no sign of your Elizabeth on the 1881 census.
Good luck in your search.
Richard.

Elizabeth TROTT
The actual 1881 census image for Elizabeth TROTT, born c1847, living in Bedminster Place, shows her as Unmarried but beware as this is also an entry on the IGI of an Elizabeth TROTT bap 28 September 1845, parents Charles & Sarah Elizabeth TROTT although it is not an extracted record. And there is also an Elizabeth TROTT born c1846 in the 1851 census of Bedminster father Richard TROTT who is a Fish Hawker Pauper. I would think that this latter Elizabeth TROTT is a likely candidate for the Elizabeth you found in the 1881 census of Bedminster given her father's profession and therefore nothing to do with your Elizabeth TROTT nee COOLE.

It may or may not be relevant that 11 Sydney Row seems to be missing from the 1881 census.
I wouldn't worry about it - it's just a missing census entry, it doesn't appear to be holding up further research (which is what a brick wall is).
Is this the husband's death?

Elizabeth Trott
On the basis of the 1891 Census which shows Elizabeth Trott, widow, living with her sister Matilda Coole in Bristol, Elizabeth's parents were John and Eleanor Coole of Bristol. The 1871 census shows John and Eleanor Coole with their children Eleanor, Joseph and Matilda. Elizabeth was living with her husband William Charles Trott at Bedminster, Bristol. Matilda's age tallies on both census records.

Elizabeth Trott
Hi Siamesewillow, you say that by 1881 Elizabeth Trott was a widow. I see her on the 1891 census as a widow with her sister Matilda, but where did the information come from that she had been widowed by 1881?
Richard.
