I have a copy of the marriage licence for the marriage of Ann SNOUCH to Richard ILIFFE and that marriage took place at UPPINGHAM, Rutland, on 25th September 1689. The people who signed were Robert SNOUCH ( of Uppingham) and Richard ILIFFE de Wellingborow. Am I correct in thinking that those two would have been the parents of the couple? Or could Richard ILIFFE have been the bridrgroom and signed for himself?

Witnesses were Catherine DEXTER & Anne MORRIS. As both were female is it reasonable to suppose that they were relatives?

Does anyone know anything about any of the above that might help me to make the connection to the Elizabeth SNOUCH (my 5 x Gt Grandmother) who married John PALMER at Caldecot, Rutland on 2nd November 1732
