Hi Angela,
Nice to see you have returned to this forum after such a long time. I have just been on The Jersey Heritage Trust site and accessed their Archive Centre catalogue.
Might be worth you looking too as I noticed they are in posession of documents for Maire Reine, Lancien dob 18/1/1878 with regard to her arrival on Jersey. Perhaps if you could obtain a copy of these it may hold further clues.
Good luck

I have been to the Jersey Heritage Trust Site and have found several entries with Marie Reine Gautier-Lancein.
I am trying to get a hold of the info found there.
I still have to figure out what happen to my Great Grand Father Marc Lancien. There was nothing in the Jersey Heritage Trust on him.
I can't find any thing other then that my grandfather met his father-inlaw before he married my grandmother in 1925.
After that nothing.
So if any one who looks at this site has any more info that they might be able to give me that would be great.
Thanks Angela Walden-Conahey

Hi Angela
I've had a look at the paperwork at the Archive.
There is a request to leave and return to the island dated 24th Nov 1945 for MRL to visit her daughter Germaine Caldwell, 26 Caler(?) St., Princes Park, Liverpool 8. There is also an Alien Registration Card dated 10th Sep 1920. This confirms all the information you already have but interestingly it states that she is a widow. It also contains 2 photgraphs taken about 20 years apart.
I've had a look through the Lancien deaths in St Helier from 1901 to 1920 and I'm afraid I can't see any.
However there is a burial in Almorah Road Cemetry dated 29th Apr 1922 for Anne Marie Lancien aged 22 years.
In the 1911 census for Guernsey there is:
LANCIEN, March Head 40 Quarry France
LANCIEN, Marie Wife 33 France
LANCIEN, Mark Son 12 School Guernsey St Sampsons
LANCIEN, Marie Daughter 11 School Guernsey St Sampsons
LANCIEN, Odel Daughter 8 School Guernsey St Sampsons
LANCIEN, German Daughter 7 School Guernsey St Sampsons
LANCIEN, Lillien Daughter 3 School Guernsey St Sampsons
LANCIEN, Alice Daughter 0 (6 MONTHS) School Guernsey St Sampsons
RG14 Piece: 34757 Reference: RG14PN34757 RD636 SD2 ED11/1 SN344
Some spelling looks suspect!!
When I requested the details at the Arcive I was told "I got these details out for someone yesterday". So if I've duplicated some work someone has alrteady done I apologise.

Thanks Stewart
Thanks.
It could be some Cousins that still live in Jersey.
I tried to get them interested in the family research. They told me they would check and then i haven't heard anything from them so i started my own search.Since i live in Tampa Florida we email.
You are right about Marc Lancien we can't seem to find any info on him.
He just disappears.
Thanks again
