Default Grave stone/burial look up Erith

Is there anyone out there kind enough to look up a relative of mine in Erith (C of e) chuchyard. His name was Robert A Jamieson, born in Ireland Died in october 1918.
The family have it that he enlisted but died during a training exercise but can't find him enlisting. I just wondered if there may be any info on the grave stone or church records. Thanks

    Hi Sue
If you have had no luck please remind me next year because we usually go to Huntingdon/St Ives Cambs for a weekend with our caravan so we could pop down and see if there is anything there for you then it would be no trouble. My husband wont mind he is used to being dragged round graveyards.

Have you got his death certificate? What was the cause of death?

That raises an important question: is it Erith near Dartford, Kent, or Earith near St Ives, Hunts (now Cambs)?

If I've looked at the right entry on FreeBMD its Erith Kent.
Bit of a detour from St Ives in Cambridgeshire - and even further from St Ives in Cornwall.

North West Kent FHS may have where the records are.

There is more than one burial ground in Erith, Kent.

I don't know if Bexley Local Studies could help.

Thanks every one. It's Erith in Kent I have the Card which was sent to his family telling them where he's buried.
    Will try your suggestion Mutley.

As Peter said, his death certificate should give you some information. The occupation column will normally give a regiment if he was in the services.

The death certificate is the most important first step. The burial place, said to be Erith parish church, can be confirmed by Bexley Archives & Local Studies.

I would say that these should be pursued before any speculative trips to the churchyard (speculative because I don't think it's known that there actually is a gravestone)
