There was a William Grant Spruell Stuart (age sadly not given) who was killed in WW1 on 23 April 1917. He was a captain in the Cameron Highlanders.

There is also a William Grant Stuart death on Scotlandspeople. He was the only one who came up when I put in a search for William Grant Stuart b+/-1878.

He died in Leith, Edinburgh in 1953, aged 75. I didn't have any spare credits so couldn't view the image to check whether it's the right one.
