He is unlikely to ahve owned the farm if he was working there as the foreman. In 1901 he is working on another farm in Nayland, Suffolk but living in Bear Street, Nayland.

Scrips Farm was part of the Felix Hall Estate at Kelvedon, details of which can be found by google. The farm was of quite a good size with approx 270 acres. The estate was sold in 1913 and the national archives hold details.

I am the grand daughter of Marcus Thompson, he was the Manager of Scrips Farm. My mother was Ellen.

Marcus Thompson senior was my greatgrandfather and Marcus junior my grandfather. I have done quite a lot of research into our family history and would be happy to share my knowledge.

There were nine children - Elizabeth and Charlotte are missing from your list. Herbert was killed during World war 1 - my mother said he was 23 years old. Not sure where or if he was buried but he was not brought back to England.
