as I was writing that, I had a brainstorm and checked again. Just look who they were living with:
BALL JOHN M 1860 51 Redruth Cornwall
BALL ELLEN F 1860 51 Redruth Cornwall
BALL REDVERS M 1900 11 Redruth Cornwall
I wonder who Redvers belongs to

well I've found Redvers on the 1901 Census and it's puzzling me.
Old Radnor Burlingjobb, Herefordshire
Lewis C Ball abt 1866 b. Old Radnor, Radnorshire, Wales
Alice F Ball abt 1872 Old Radnor, Radnorshire, Wales
Garnett B S Ball abt 1893 Old Radnor, Radnorshire, Wales Son
George A L Ball abt 1895 Old Radnor, Radnorshire, Wales Son
Gladys E Ball abt 1897 Old Radnor, Radnorshire, Wales Daughter
Emelie W Ball abt 1899 Old Radnor, Radnorshire, Wales Daughter
Redvers S Ball abt 1900 Old Radnor, Radnorshire, Wales Son
so who was Lewis C. Ball?
there were actually 2 Redvers Stanley BALLs but the other died when he was about 1 year old.
the one with John & Ellen in 1911 was:
Births Jun 1900
BALL Redvers Sydney Kington 6a 565
Marriages Dec 1926
Ball Redvers S Kington 6a 1113
Williams Lizzie O Kington 6a 1113

I've been having a look for John Eustice Ball and this is what I have come up with:
10 April 1860 at Phillack - baptism of John Eustice to William & Hannah Ball of Ventonleague (4 weeks old)
William Ball m Hannah before1844 (but I cannot find the marriage, the only possible is in Sep 1842 Penzance Dist William Ball to Johanna Ustick, this is an alternative spelling of Eustice so could possibly be them but a bit of a long shot.)
in 1851 at Nancledra, Ludgvan
William Ball b 1812 St Keverne
Hannah Ball 1821 Gwinear
William H Ball 1844 Lelant bap 26 May 1844
James T Ball 1846 Phillack bap 22 Nov 1846
Elizabeth Ball 1849 Ludgvan
Henry Eustis 1826 Lelant
Hannah possibly the daughter of Henry and Honour Eustice bap 6 May 1821 at Gwinear (IGI)
I cant find the family in 1861 but in 1871 John is living with sister Elizabeth and another brother George at Ventonleague. Missing again in 1881 then as you have already found with wife Ellen in 1891 & 1901
Hope this helps.
There is a John Ball living at Phillack also b St Keverne so possibly WIlliam's brother, need to check St Keverne records.

Hi Nicolina
I responded to your post #31 and believe that post #32 is not part of the line. William John Redvers Denton Ball sailed to New York and arrived August 25, 1916. He was aged 16, single and previously [in Cornwall] a labourer. He married at age 24 and seperated some time later and by 1930 was living in Silver Bow, Montana.
I do appreciate your efforts on my behalf

Hi LesleyS
Thanks for the above. I've found an old document that states the following
William Ball - born about 1818 in Linkinhome, Cornwall
Hannah Ball - nee Eustice - born about 1822 in Linkinhome, Cornwall
The marrried in Linkinhome, Cornwall but I cannot decipher the date
Children of the above:
William Henry - Christened May 26, 1844 in Trinkbottom, Unylelant, Cornwall
Elizabeth Ann - Born July 22, 1849 in Phillack, Ludugan, Cornwall
James - Born March 11, 1855 in Phillack, Ludugan, Cornwall
John Eustice - Born March 11, 1855 in Phillack - Died in June 1855
John Eustice - Born October 19, 1855 in Phillack - Died June 1859
John - Baptised as per you post - he went on to marry Ellen Mollard.
Hope this helps us along the line somehow
Thank you for your help
Colin

I have consulted with a friend who has access to a few more records than I do and this is a summary of what he has found:
Although not impossible I should think a marriage at Linkinorne might be discounted. :-)
Linkinhorne is in the Liskeard R.D. and there is no marriage for a William Ball in that district at least in the 1840's when William and Hannah would have married.
Taking all things into consideration I have to agree with your thoughts on this.
Lelant Marriages
16 July 1842
William Ball full age laborer of Uny Lelant (father: William Ball, tailor)
Johanna Ustick full age servant of Uny Leant (father: Henry Ustick, miner)
Witnesses: George Ustick, Elizabeth Rosewarne
Now I don't know why the name should be recorded as 'Ustick' but .......
Here is my outline of the family (bear in mind the surname varies in spelling):-
Henry Eustice bp. 25th August 1776 Gwinear s/o George EUSTIS and Rebecca REYNOLDS who married 31st January 1757 at Crowan.
m1. Honour HEATHER 13th September 1812 at Gwinear
George bp. 12th December 1813 Gwinear (m. Alice Curnow in 1845)
Jane bp. 28th June 1818 Gwinear
HANNAH bp. 6th May 1821 GWINEAR
m2. Jane UREN 21st December 1823 Lelant
HENRY bp. 29th April 1824 Lelant
John bp. 21st March 1827 Gwinear (married Catherine Thomas in 1846 and his son married a Quick)
The witness at Hannah's marriage was undoubtedly her brother George born in 1813 and it is possibly after him that her own son was named.
Children for William and Hannah BALL
William Henry bp. 26th May 1844 s/o William and Hannah Ball (IGI)
James bp. 22nd November 1846 at Phillack s/o William and Hannah Ball of Ventonleague
Elizabeth Ann bp. 22nd July 1849 at Phillack d/o William and Hannah Ball of Ludgvan
George Ball - baptism not yet found
John Eustice bp. 11th March 1855 at Phillack s/o William and Hannah Ball of Ventonleague
John Eustice bp. 19th October 1858 (born 26th September) at Phillack s/o William and Hannah Ball of Vengonleague
John Eustice bp. 10th April 1860 at Phillack s/o William and Hannah Ball of Vengonleague (age 4 weeks)
Burials
John Eustice Ball of Ventonleague age 3 months buried 29th May 1855 at Phillack
John Eustice Ball of Ventonleague age 8 months buried 31st May 1859 at Phillack
Hannah Ball ov Ventonleague age 46 buried 14th May 1867 at Phillack with her newly born child
William Ball of Union Workhouse age 59 buried 23rd August 1869 at Phillack
Unfortunately I cannot find a possible baptism for William Ball.
IGI shows none between 1809 and 1813 and the nearest baptism for a William at St Keverne is not until 1821 when the base son of Ann Ball was baptised.
Most of this agrees with what you have and adds a few extra thoughts.
