    Question 1841 census for Hastings

    Hi,

Can anyone look up the 1841 census returns for All Saints, Hastings for a John and Ann English. Ann was born in St Clements, Hastings in 1781, so would be aged about 60, I have no idea how old John would be! If the couple do not appear in this area, if it is not too much trouble, can you look at the other areas of Hastings please, St. Clements for example.

    Many thanks,

    Carol

    Some more for you:

    HO107/ 1105/ 5 - Golders Farm, Ore
Farmer is Richard Eastland & Family - two of his ag Labs or Farm Servants are
James English, 15 and John English aged 11 - both born in Sussex.

    HO107/ 1105/ 3 - Baldslow, St Leonards
George English, 55 Ag Lab & Wife Philadelphia 50
    both born in Sussex
(Baldslow is about 100 yards from Beauport - so could be related)

George English, 35, Smith Journeyman, and wife Eliza, 25 with 3 small children all under 4 years of age.

Those are the only 'english' surnames of people in the 1841 census of hastings and surrounding district
