I would like to know about the sion meeting house in Alnwick please.
Was it a church as I have found some family baptisms there. Would there be any photos of it anywhere.
Thanks,
Lynne

If you put your title into a search engine such as google, plenty of results will come up.
It is another name for the local Congregational Church.
Google books results brings up a book about Alnwick written 1822.
I think that is a good find for me, as I have family from there too.ChristineR

According to the National Archives catalogue, Sion Meeting House (formerly Bondgate) in Alnwick was Presbyterian.
Electronic images of these registers can be searched online through TNA's website at https://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/f...step1a.htm#bmd (there is a charge to view images)

Hi Lynne,
I've just registered with this site, and have spotted your post of last July, regarding the Sion Meeting House in Alnwick. Did you ever find any photos? If not, I'm happy to send you some which I took on a visit in 2008, if you let me know how best to get them to you. Presumably you also know that scanned images of the original register entries are available on the "Genealogist" site. I've found a couple of baptisms I'm interested in that way - Ralph Murray (1830) and his sister, Anne Murray (1833).
Hope you find this information useful.

Thank you David. I would be very grateful for some photos of the Sion meeting house.
Perhaps you could scan them and email me.

This is also of interest to me, to see whether the Landells are mentioned between about 1760 and 1840. My ggg grandfather Reverend William Burns Landells was born 1812, his father also involved. Rev WB migrated to Australia after church work in Sheffield.
