    Default itton court stables

    Hello.

I am establishing the life of my grandfather who I have recently dicovered via an affiliation order and his first world war record gives his address as itton court stables. His name appears on the Itton village hall memorial giving the names of men connected with the Itton Estate in the 1st WW 1914-1919 on the memorial

Would anyone have information about the estate and specifically the stables or employees of the estate

    thanks in anticipation

I would expect any records to be at Gwent Record Office in Cwmbran. Sadly they are not open on Saturdays, or you could combine it with a visit to the Gwent FHS Open Day on the same site tomorrow, although I am sure the RO will be represented. I am not sure where in Wales you live, but it is sure to be a good day out if you can make it. Not to mention the lure of a B-G badge! See here for details.
