The LCC street listing confirms what Finbar says.
If you have a look at birds eye view on multimap, you'll see that the street appears to have been completely redeveloped, aided no doubt by certain events in the 1940s.

You say c1937, how circa?
in 1861 for example it is in the census registration district 13. It was Surrey until 1889 when it became London.
It once ran from Mint Street to Park Street. I am not 100% sure but maybe Mint Street is now Marshalsea Road so the above posters are correct and it is now Redcross Way.

If you wish to go back in time.
Charles Booth walks the local streets. https://booth.lse.ac.uk/
In 1899 in Southwalk, Walk 7 he describes Red Cross Street.
There is Stanhope Buildings, Mowbray Buildings, Falcon Court, Birdcage Alley, Woods Yard and the Hall, the Gardens and much more.....

Mutley, what a fantastic site. My husband's grandfather was born in Red Cross Street in 1896, son of Italian immigrants, so this is absolutely fascinating - particularly to me as a former sociology student.
