I am looking for the family of my gg grandmother: Elizabeth Williams HARDING, who was born in Lanteglos/ Polstraw/ Cannelford in 1844.
Her father was John HARDING, originally from Devon and her mother Rebecca, maybe also from Devon. Perhaps John and Rebecca were married in Cannelford?
I'm not sure where they were in 1851.
I'm still not too clear on the places either. Is Lanteglos part of Postraw then part of Cannelford...
much thanks

Rebecca & John HARDING
Dear Scottie, Just to let you know, I have got much further on Rebecca HARDING (nee Williams, first married to ? LYNE in Devon)
Rebecca married John in 1843, Stoke Damerel, Devon.
By the 1871 census she was a widow yet again, so John HARDING died sometime between 1861 and then. Her younger brother Roger was also a widower, in his case by 1861.

There seems to be a link with these families and Glamorgan in Wales. By 1871 Roger Williams is living there with his son Jeremiah. I don't know who his daughters Mary and Elizabeth went to live with.

Harding, Lyne & Williams in Wales & Cornwall
Thanks for the update There were 156 people in my database with links to Glamorgan. Lots of the ship carpenters went to Cardiff and there were miners of various types who found their way there too. Some went there for the Copper works, others to the coal mines. My husband's Grandfather was a ship captain and he went there when Cory & Sons moved there from Padstow.
