I'm thinking that because Maryland was still a British colony back in the 1600's that my PINDELL ancestor might have been a British subject when he arrived in Maryland. Records have been found of him owning land in Prince George's County, Maryland around the time that Prince George's County came into existence, (1696 or so), but I'm having quite a challenge finding any PINDELL relatives in Europe before 1696.
Can anyone help?
Thank you.

The Pindell family had a tobacco plantation that was around 1000 acres but my great grandparents or great great grandparents sold it
