    Default What's a Pet. Crs.

Used in old Law Journals (1832-1949). Seen this when researching old bankruptcies.

    First the person is named
    Then the Sols (solicitor)
    and then the Pet. Crs.

Petitioned Creditors maybe? the main folk that money was owed to?

    Thanks
    Betsy

In the context, 'petitioned creditors' certainly makes sense.

Far more so than Pet C(ouncillo)rs!

Creditors can certainly present the petition. Presumably they would then be petitioning creditors or petitioners and creditors....

It's 'petitioning creditors' - ie the people who were owed money.
