Would some kind soul please look this gentleman up on the 1901 Census? I found him on the 1881 Census for Walton on Thames Surrey living with wife Elizabeth, and children Henry b. 1868, William b. 1872, Herbert b. 1875 and Arthur b. 1877. Daughter Annie and son John were both living with Elizabeth's brother Henry as domestics - housemaid and groom- in Folkestone, Kent
Then absolutely hide nor hair of any of them in 1891 on FreeBMD and by 1916, Bedo, bless his cotton socks, was dying in Union Infirmary Chertsey. Why wasn't he living with his family? I see a death for wife Elizabeth in Reigate Sept 1918 2a 230 and one for his son Herbert March 1910 Chertsey 2a 48 and another for son Arthur June 1910 Chertsey 2a 54. (rough year for the family). But what of William?
I'm hoping to fill in the gap between 1881 and his death in 1916.

Bedo, George and Arthur are all bricklayers, John's occupation begins Gr.... but the ennumerator has put his mark right through the word. Harry is a grandson (possibly John's son as he wasn't with the family in 1891?)
hope this all helps

It absolutely helps! Thank you so much Salcat. I'm still pondering over the disappearance of Elizabeth at the time of his death. On his death certificate it shows A. J. Bristow (nephew) as next of kin (son of his brother John).
Bedo's death certificate shows that he died of senile dementia and insomnia, so perhaps he ran around late at night in his underpants, scaring the neighbors? I guess if I were his wife I'd ship him off too. Poor soul.
