    Default Henry Goodman

    Hi
I am also missing Henry William Goodman b abt 1844 Holcote to John Goodman and Mary Ann Tite. He is on the 1851 census but is not on the 1861 census

Can anyone help me.......I am assuming that he probably died but I can't find anything else about him

    Regards
    Fiona

    Fiona,

Having seen that you are searching for a number of people in the Hulcote/Holcote area of Bedfordshire, you may wish to consider the purchase of a copy of the parish register. It is available from Parish Chest (scroll down the link until you get to it) although only as a fiche. Perhaps your local library/family history centre would have a fiche reader that you could use?

I had a look on FreeBMD for a potential death for Henry, but could not see one in Bedfordshire.

I will have a look at the 1861 census to see if he is hiding as a mistranscription.

That's the one that I have just seen, Fiona, and was wondering about it. I do not know of a Blenheim in Bedfordshire and was wondering if it should have been Blunham. However, Blunham is about 20 miles from Hulcote, so not much help there!

Have you found him in 1871?

Nope, it is not him - just checked 1851 and the Henry Goodman that we have found in 1861 is alive and well and living in Blunham. HO107; Piece: 1753; Folio: 29; Page: 7

Also checked 1871 and there is no trace either.

    Hiya

Guess it may be stating the obvious but on FreeBMD, I see that there is a birth listed in Mar 1844:
    GOODMAN, Henry William - Woburn Vol6-page 33

There is a death also at Woburn in Jun 1871:
    GOODMAN, Henry - age 34 - Vol3b - page235
    but it doesn't match age-wise

Bear in mind that the Bedfordshire PR transcriptions on fiche only go up to 1812, so are of no use for events in the 1840s.
