    Default marriage in Liverpool

Are there any documents that show the woman's parents other than the marriage cert.? I have Alice Laycock b.1824, Ewood Bridge, married Caleb James Wroe in 1848, I think in Liverpool.

Unfortunately, English marriage certs only show the fathers name and occupation. The mothers name is not included (unless she happens to be a witness).
You may be lucky and find her on the 1841 census with her parents. If you know where she was from you may be able to find her baptism in the parish records which can give you her mothers name.

Thanks everyone for your input. I do have the Wroe information back to about 1800. The women are left out a lot and I want to know a little about Alice Laycock. doe
