Thanks Muttley. Of course Penny and I and others researching this man are assuming that he didn't change his Christian name, but that was the only thing we really had to start with.The lack of a mother's name is very frustrating though. Oh well at least we'll have a good study of the Lownds/Lown name even if nothing else.
