Have so far failed to find William and Mary in 1901. Was hoping to find Ivor and Gwilym at home, which would have made searching for Evans a bit less like the proverbial needle in the haystack (homed in on the 1891 via Ada!)

The trouble is that all the children could be living independently by 1901 except perhaps for Bertie, and he could be a Robert,Albert,Herbert.....

I haven't found a William Evans born in St.Fagans, but I did find a death for a William Evans June qtr 1897 in Cardiff vol 11a page 225 - aged 50
Of course with such a common name there is no guarantee this is him.

    Hello Sue,

That's marvellous news. Thank you very much. Yes, I guess there are SO MANY Evans at Cardiff it's a difficult name to check.

Do you have any clues as to who William Evans married ?

He married about 1873 to a Mary someone born about 1848 at Pontyprid.

I'd love to know where they were in 1901 but I guess there are just too many Evans.

    Best Wishes form Wayne Brown

    Hi

My g grandfather William Davies Evans was born in Edwards Street (not the terrace this time), Llandaff in 1865, have tried to see if any link between the two families but there isnt any, as mentioned below, Wales is full of William Evan's.

Have also tried to locate the rest of the family in 1901, but as Sue said, stilll a needle and haystack job I am afraid.

    Good luck in your searching

    Brian

    Job EVANS to Parthenia HARDING?
Piece of cake - marriage registered Cardiff September qtr 1843 26/445

    William EVANS to Mary?
Assuming Annie to be the eldest child I put in a search for William EVANS marriages in Glamorgan for two years either side of 1872. It came up with 129. Specifying the district as Pontypridd reduced it to 20. I did try going through to see if any of the brides on the same page were Mary's (and of course there are two sets of people to each page so no guarantee that any Mary would be the bride of William) but the first one I came to was a Mary EVANS so I gave up!!

Your best bet may be to join the Glamorgan FHS (you can do it on line via Parish Chest) and put a query for free in their quarterly journal. Someone local may well recognise the family, particularly with a Job and Parthenia further back.
