Hi, I am interested in finding more of my family, I can now go back to a Ralph Lindop who was born in Haslington somewhere around 1760 and was a wheelwright, his son was also Ralph and was a millwright and son was Thomas and he was a millwright. Do you have any information about these "roots".
    Regards
    Peter Lindop

On my Family tree I have a George Colley Lindop, father of my Grandfather, also George Colley Lindop born 13th May 1897 in Monks Coppenhall Cheshire. Died 1952 in Crewe cheshire September 1952.

I know nothing at the moment about my Great Grandfather. Could there be a connection with your George Colley Lindop?

    Regards.

    Hi,

Not sure if there is any connection between your Lindops and the one from Congleton who was killed during WW2. His name was Arnold Lindop and his parents were George Thomas and Mary Lindop. He is listed as missing and is on the Plymouth Naval Memorial after his H.M.L.C.T 326 was lost either due to weather or a mine off the Isle of Man on 2/2/1943.

At the moment he is one of over 250 men of Congleton not listed on the memorial though this will change in 2018 when the town memorial will of been re-built. I have been tasked by the town council to prove that the men not listed on there have a connection to Congleton such as lived, born or worked in the town. Arnold has been proven as having a Congleton connection.

    Regards
    Mike

    Default George Colley Lindop.

    Thanks for the reply.

Sorry. I made a mistake in my post. My grandfathers name was Ralph Colley Lindop. His Father was named George Colley Lindop and Mother Emily Dutton.

I am on Ancestry but not Genes Reunited.
