    Default NORTH SURREY DISTRICT SCHOOL 1881

    The 1881 census shows ELIZA GREENFIELD aged 13 as a sholar at the North Surrey District School at Anerley, Surrey. Does anyone know about this school particularly was it for poor children?

    It looks like it.

    Have a look at workhouses.org.uk website. Enter Anerley in the search box and it will tell you about the school.

    my mother went to that school she was put there as a young baby until she reached the age of 15 and then went into service
