    Default Patrick Mcevilly/Mary Morahan marriage

    Can anyone help please,
    I am trying to find the marriage between Patrick McEvilly (lots of name variations with McEvilly) and Mary Morahan. They were both born about 1820.
    The marriage would have been about 1837 somewhere in Co. Mayo.
    They had 3 children born in Mayo -
    Mary about 1838, Bridget about 1841, Catherine about 1845.
    The family moved from Mayo about 1846 to England and settled in North Shields.

    Current name distribution in mayo would indicate the following:

    McEvilly is common enough in the Killawalla/Ballintubber/Westpost area, Morahan appears to be common around louisburgh area (which is close to westport)

    I not sure if good records exist back to the early 1800s, churches around these areas may strike it lucky.

    I would agree, you are spot on with he most likely areas of origin and records are a bit thin on the ground.
