My great grandfather was a James Marshall McKenna, who was born out of wedlock in 1901. There is no sign whatsoever of who his father may be, and the father is not listed on either his birth or marriage certificate. I know that his mother was an Annie McKenna, who married a Thurston Watkinson in 1908 (Thurston can't be the father as he was only 15 in 1901 and lived a few miles away in Preston) in Preston.
I've tried to find relatives who may know who his father was, as well as asking James' children, but noone seems to have any idea who the father was.
Is there anyway I could find out who the father may be?

Hello Skycloud and welcome to Brit-Gen!
Have you found a baptism for him? There may be a remote chance that there's an entry that says something like, "James Marshall McKenna, son of Annie. Purported father to be...."
Good luck with your search,

Where would I be able to find a baptism record for Leyland in the early 20th century?
