On his daughter's b/cert 1891 his occupation was "Nightwatchman at the Assizes". Although they seemed to move around a bit they did'nt go abroad. I have a record for their eldest son Gilbert Rodgers Dixon at Chethams school between 1895 and 1899 his home address was recorded as 55 Oldfield Dwellings Salford. The b/cert for my grandfather, Leonard Rodgers Dixon shows them at 78 Bigland St Salford on 8th April 1901, I found it a bit strange but there was no fathers name on this certificate. I have tried to find out if James had died sometime before the birth but I've found nothing yet. I also thought it was a bit odd that the first and last of their children had Rodgers as part of their name, none of the other four did. Gilbert died of TB in 1903 aged 18 the address on his death cert was 7 Heaps Buildings Salford. If nothing else this is keeping me very busy lol
thanks for your help and comments
