I have a little stack of conflicting pedigrees for this family, along with a grant of arms that accepts "family tradition." The earliest Percy of whose existence I can find evidence (wills, etc.) is Jonas Percy. He was born after 1660, died after 1730, married the granddaughter of Sir William Parsons, the Lord Justice. His mother was Sarah, daur of Rev. John PADFIELD, bpt in Huntsham, Devon in 1643. (Confirmed in wills.) His father is shown as Richard Percy, but all info about Richard (no dates) is in that realm of "family tradition."

There may be a connection to James Percy of Dublin, the "trunkmaker" who claimed the Earldom of Northumberland. James mentioned a Percy of Ballintemple as a relative, but he wasn't a very good genealogist. :-) Some of the pedigrees show incorrect links.

Looking (for years now) for evidence of the family origins.
