Hello Sandra,
I'm unable to answer your query, but have just been reading some of the details of the murder - gruesome!
I see that Edith's hanging at Chester gaol was delayed for 4 months as she was pregnant. Maybe the prison archives would be able to help with what happened to the child.

Hi Sandra
Have you tried looking at the Wybunbury parish registers as the Morrey/Coomer families had connections with that parish too?

Thomas Morrey child of Edith Coomer
Thomas was born 21 Dec 1812 and baptised 3 Apr 1814 - being brought up by the parents of thye murdered George Morrey. Thomas was found guilty of stealing (I think some meat) and was sentenced to 7 Years in Australia (15 Apr 1833, shipped 29 Jan 1834). For bad behaviour 2 years were added to his sentence. Cannot tyrace his movements after his release. Best wishes, Cliff
