Had a look at the document & yes, I would say you're on the right lines. Looking for a marriage between John VIDLER & Louisa Austen/Austin.
Looks like they didn't have any children as none mentioned in this document,
Jane

Having gone round in a few circles I wonder if Louisa did marry John and just took his name.
One other observation.
The neice Charlotte just happens to be born on the same year that a Louisa Austin marries a certain Henry Beale.
Just a thought.
Cheers
Dave.

Now here's a coincidence. The dates are a bit out of line.
Charlotte Austin. Daughter of John Austin and Louisa Austin.
Christened 23rd Jan. 1825.
Erith. Kent.
Cheers.

I think just a coincidence, Dave, as Louisa (born about 1814) would have been about 11, so I don't think so Nice try though

11 years would be to young if your 1814 date is correct. But not if she was 15 or 16 years old and birth years have a bit of a habit of being recorded a bit out. Oh well still a nice mystery though.
Cheers.

Overseers of the Poor: other records - ref. PAR492/37
FILE - Notice by Patty Vidler, widow of Samuel Vidler and now of the Hare and Hounds Inn, Flimwell, Ticehurst, owned by herself, of her application for a licence to sell liquor - ref. PAR492/37/147 - date: 14 Sep 1832
Spotted the above on the A2A site.
Dave, Louisa's age seems consistant through the censuses (DOB 1813/1814) also the place of birth & that of her brother Albert Austin (1822) is always Battle, Ssx.

I have purchased the will, but can barely read it. From what I can make out everything went to his wife Louisa.
However, in my purchase I got two more wills attached, one for Fanny UMPHELBY of Surrey and one for Elizabeth VESIE. Would I be breaking the copyright rules if I posted a link on this site for others to see if they belong to their family?
I have made a post in the Wills section about names within and for individuals to PM me.
