prior,pryor,prier...

hope someone maybe able to offer a suggestion here,
i've traced the priors in my tree back to James Prirer who married Mary Reynolds in St.Ewe,in 1784,i've also found a baptism close by in fowey,for a James Prior,but i'm not sure how to find out some proof or some connection.
should their marriage offer any other info like his place of residence,or birth?
i've been to my local studies centre here in cornwall,and i contacted the opc for St.Ewe,he definately wasn't born there.

I have been looking for a branch of the Pryor family from the area of Mawgan in Meneage, which is in the Helston area but i wonder if location wasn't really an issue as they seem to have been itinerant farm labourers in their time. hope this helps or at least gives you somewhere else to look.
