    Thank you, Sue. Another useful piece of information.

    Now, do you reckon you can figure out why my 3x great grandfather, Robert Butcher, son of Samuel and Rachel, decided to move to London sometime before 1827 when he married, when all his siblings stayed put in Suffolk? Must say, I'm quite grateful to him as it's so much easier getting to London from here than getting to Suffolk although I'm absolutely sure that making my life easier wasn't in his thoughts at the time.

    Well its probably the ususal thing, moving to where the work was. Maybe he saw it as a way to a better life in London.

    For the life of me I can't find Rachel in 1841, have you found her, was trying to find when William Cooper may have died, but no luck there either.

    Would you like any other marriage lookups.

    This might be her although it's hard to be certain - surname spelt Coopper -
    HO107 Piece 1016 Book 16 Folio 4 Page 11

    Actually there is one more marriage which would be helpful - John Butcher to Amy. First child born in Walpole c1829, the other 12 (!) born in Holton. Thanks for offerring.
