    Hi Everyone

My great great grandmother Mary Jane Carleton was orphaned in the Potato famine and ran away to sea and came to South Africa. She married in Cape Town in 1855 - and that's all we know about her. Her one grandaughter became a Dominican nun and grandson a catholic priest - I would assume that the family were Catholics ??

Where do I start looking for her family in Ireland ??

I would appreciate any help or tips
    regards
    Heather
