I am looking for maps of Caithness hoping to find names of old and abandoned communities.
Any suggestions towards locating maps with old names and the names of the communities today would be much appreciated!

Tracey, Kingetter, Thank you for responses and offers. Tracey's link led to wonderful discoveries. I read an account about the son of an Anglo-Norman/Scot earl. He drove the wild boars out of a hamlet in Caithness. His father persuaded him to build a castle and guard the coast. The castle was named in the earl's native tongue and called Schweinsburgh. The son took the name Schweinsburgher as his name. There are many varients of the name today to include Swan, Swaney, and Swansburgh. There's mention that Swansburgs rallied under the King of Sweden with the Scottish Highlanders during the Thrity Years War. Does anyone know the Anglo-Norman name for Castle Swiney?
