Hi I am always looking for information I know!! I would like any info on Ann Grant born about 1745 and died 1800, buried in Woodhorn St Mary's
she married a Thomas Brown at Woodhorn St Mary's on19/12/1768 I assume she came from Northumberland, but I have no proof, I checked the IGI for Grants - only came up with one in Dorset can anyone help? any info gratefully received. thanks

Pejay, have you checked "north of the border"? A lot of Grants originated in Scotland and Northumberland is only a hop and a skip away.

I was thinking of the IGI, using Scotland as country of origin, but I've had a quick look and there is no immediately obvious candidate. There are quite a lot of Scottish Ann Grants, but there is no way of knowing if yours is one of them and none seem to be born in 1745. There are quite a few entries for Aberdeenshire. The only other place I can think of is asking for advice on the Talking Scot forum. They are a friendly bunch and someone may have some suggestions. Good luck.
