Default HELP!!! Re: Weeks - ASC 1914/20

I am getting nowhere in a hurry. My late father, HERBERT VICTOR WEEKS, born 21.11.1899 in Birmingham, apparently joined the Army Service Corps. I know he served in Palestine and was apparently injured. I am both physically and financially (!) unable to travel to Kew to research and cant afford to pay anybody professional to do it for me. So, I know he was a Driver in the ASC with Reg.No. T4/262290. He is not listed on the 1901 census. I know he lived in Birmingham all his life. He died in l964. On one site I have found that T4 was "Horse Transport", but how he could be a "driver"!!!. His one job was to escort pilgrims to Mecca. He was attacked by Turks on one such journey. I cannot find anything else out at all. His siblings are all deceased. Anybody brilliant out there who can come up with some answers for me ???

    Hi Anne.

Thanks for responding. I have already looked at this site, and brilliant though it is, it does not give me any answers. All I know is that his regiment was T4. and he was a driver. I cannot seem to find out anything else about T4. Do you know, or anybody else out there ????

    Thank you in anticipation.

I cant thank you "guys" enough.!!! I have spent hours ploughing through the 1901 census but obviously looking under the correct spelling of WEEKS.

I have my fathers medal card, which shows his regiment as ASC T4 and that he was a driver. Still trying to find out where that regiment was actually stationed. All I know is that he was in Egypt.

I am absolutely sure there is some genius out there who has the answer !!!

Once again thank you. That will teach me to look under "various" spellings.

    Beth
