    Emma Povah, born 17 July 1891, in Liverpool, daughter of Charles and Margaret Povah, emigrated to the U.S. i dont know when.? can any one help me track her down . I know its along shot but i would really appreciate the help. Thanks Sue

    By "track her down", I assume you mean post-emigration.

    I don't think you'll have much luck in this country apart from the sources described here -

    US sources are probably your best bet.

    1901 census Liverpool

    Emma Povah born Liverpool age 9
    Charles Povah age 50
    Margaret Povah age 48
    Jane Povah age 13
    Robert Povah age 19.

    At least you know they were still in England when the above was taken.

    Can't find her under Emma Povah in the US census of 1910/20 or 30, but by then she could have married.
    There is an Emma Povah listed on the Philadelphia Passenger Lists, 1800-1945, but I'm not subscribed to read them at the moment. perhaps another person on the forum can read the record.

    Thankyou all so much for your help i really do appreciate it. That is the Emma i am looking for in Philadelphia, her friend Tim Marley, did she travel with him or was he her contact in the U.S.?
    Can i be realy cheeky and ask if any one can tell me of any site other then Ancestors, as im not subscribed for the U.S info, that i could find more information, ie who she married and so on.
