    Question TINNUCI and TINNUCHE

I am looking for someone to check the Roman Catholic indexes for baptisms in the Carmathen & Llannely areas.

I can provide the yr of birth etc, i just need the info found on the register.

I have access to Ancestry UK and am willing to trade research

    Default Roman Catholic Registers

Very few RC registers have been transcribed; the Catholic Central Library lists those that have been done by the Catholic Family History Society https://www.catholic-history.org.uk/cfhs/, click on "Mission Registers" at https://www.catholic-library.org.uk/ Many registers are still with the parish priest or only in the relevant RC diocesan archive.

I suggest that you try Michael Gandy's publication Catholic Missions and Registers 1700-1880, volume 3, Wales & the West of England - I don't have a copy of the booklet covering Wales so can't give a more specific reply. He lists all know Catholic missions for that period, and the location and coverage of the surviving registers, as well as where there are transcriptions, if any.

    Good luck

    Default Tinnuche

Thought it might be of interest to you to know that there were still Tinnuches in Llanelly in the 1950s. I was at school with an Ann Tinnuche . She went to Llangennech Primary School and lived in the Bryn area of Llanelly. I believe she went from that school to Stradey Secondary School.
