Smile Bendall of Clutton district (Litton?) goes to Oxford and marries a Norfolk girl

    Hello,

The sister of my great x2 grandfather was Mary Ann Bates born in Weston, Norfolk in 1857. She married Francis BENDALL in 1882 in London. They already had a daughter, Frances Mary, who was born in 1881 in Oxford. Three more daughters followed: Helen in 1885, Elsie in 1890 and Mildred in 1894. All in Oxfordshire.

In 1912 Elsie married Richard Bishop in Oxfordshire.

Francis BENDALL was born in Somerset (in Litton according to the census, Clutton district according to BMD index) in 1858. He worked at an Oxford college.

If you have an interest or any knowledge about this family, please get in touch.

    Best regards,
    Rob Bates
