This is part of the bankrupcy papers of g.grandfathers Butcher shop business. I understand the majority of it but am having difficultly with the red writing.

Thank you so much every one, I did get a lot of it but not the bit about winning the money.
I wonder at what?? What sort of things would women be involved in to win money?
Later she left F T Howse (and children) apart from her daughter and emigrated to the USA, obviously paying her own way.

One of course could be cynical (tut tut) and say that possibly the money was only in her name as a means of not paying the husband's debtors, and 'winning money' was a ruse and no way of tracing? I read the name as House as well, not Howse by the way. But of course, you would know if it's your grandfather.

Yes, you could be right. Frederick Howse (the man in question) did try to sell the business to his 9 year old son. The court didn't take kindly to that, I wonder why!
