Hi all,
I hope you can help.
I have William Shaw in each census from 1851-1901 born about 1817.
He is in Kent around the Gravesend area for all these census records. He gives his place of birth as Maresfield or Marsfield Sussex each time.
He married Sarah Mullender in 18/06/1844 at the Parish church of St George Bloomsbury. He is listed as a Farmer at the time of marriage, unusual in the middle of London! (all later census he is a labourer or a gardener and laterly a sexton)
Both he and Sarah give their address as 1 North Cresecent.
His father is listed as Charles Shaw a surgeon.
Can anyone locate him in the 1841 census or his father Charles.
Any help much appreciated.
Barry

In my boundless generosity , I looked it up for you.
This was from the Sussex Baptismal Index. You may want to have a look yourself.
Presumably the registers are at East Sussex RO. Perhaps one of the societies publishes something? I'd have a look at GenUKI if I were you.
The mormons don't seem to have much.
