My gggrandfather Arthur James Lane was born in 1816. He married Caroline Jones in 1845 and they had Arthur Evan Lane in 1854, but after that I can find no trace of them at all. Arthur Evan was listed in the 1881 census as living with his aunt Louisa Lane in Kingston, Surrey. Arthur J was born in Kingston or Surbiton. Can anyone help please?

Thanks for that! I had seen the Brighton ones listed myself but had disregarded them. Perhaps it is them and for some reason they moved there and left their son with his aunt, as Arthur Evan was definitely born in Surbiton/kingston.
