Hello all I'm trying to find a photograph of Bondgate which became the Sion Meeting House in Alnwick, Northumberland. I have found the Sion Meeting House erected in 1815 (according to the sign) but I am seeking information about the earlier one. My GGGG Grandmother, Isabella Rochester, was...

  3. Non-Conformist families in early PRs

As I'm working my way through parish registers, I am finding the occasional non-conformist or dissenting family who have asked for their children's names to be recorded in the parish register. Often these lists are not with the other baptisms, and are not in chronological order of the register, so...

  4. 'Proprietor' on burial record

Can someone please tell me what the column headed 'proprietor' means on a non-conformist bural record from 1824? The name given seems to be the deceased man's wife, but it is interpreted as his mother on the transcript provided, even though he was 36 when he died.

  6. Non-conformist Fleet clandestine marriage

Does anyone have any thoughts on why a widow from Stebbing, Essex marry a man also from Stebbing at Fleet in 1743? I always thought that clandestine marriages were usually for couples who were young and wanted a quick marriage without their parents knowledge. As far as I can tell, the widow...

  8. Parent's names not recorded 1716-1730

I'm trying to build up a family of non-conformists, and have managed to identify the parent's names through apprenticeship and burial records. Thomas & Ann GREEN (nee YOUNG) were married 1710 at Bradwell-juxta-Coggeshall, Essex in 1710, both of the parish of Stebbing. They had children...

  13. Baptist family

OK, a bit of background: I have two William Dennisons, both living in the same village of Debden Essex, both marrying a woman called Ann. 20. Coneygar Lane Wesleyan Chapel Weymouth

I am looking for a photo of this chapel as my Gt Gt Grandfather John Edward WARREN was baptised there in 1837. Can anyone help or point me in the right direction? I believe it was demolished in 1867 so the chances are probably slim, but you never know!
