I am looking for a FT package that will work on an Android tablet, preferably off-line and if possible run from a USB drive.
Ideally it should be at minimal cost i.e. gratis.

I know I'm dim, but could you please confirm what a FT package is?
FT to me means (the) Financial Times, so I don't know how that fits into genealogy?Vulcan XH558 - “Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.”

I use the free RootsMagic package and have for quite a few years. I still mainly use RootsMagic 4 because the font and layout I prefer over the later RootsMagic editions. RootsMagic 10 is the latest version and if you want all the bells and whistles it will cost you $39.95. The full version hooks up with ancestry. You can try the free version and see if it suits then upgrade if you like it.
I know others like Brothers Keeper and I am sure there will be many other suggestions.
