    I tried to sign up for a free one week trial without success.
    Would some kind researcher with access to Newspapers.com please tell me what is reported in the Mercury for William SUDBURY.

    Did you mean Newspapers,com or did you mean the British Newspaper Archive, the latter of which is also available on Findmypast?
    Our T&Cs do not allow you to ask for look-ups, but if you have the patience to wait until the weekend FMP are supposed to be allowing free access to the newspaper archive. See post #3 in this thread.

    That's what the article is about but it gives minimal information, and doesn't say exactly how much he was fined.
    Which is why I said it wasn't very exciting.

    It was 10s6d. I found this many years ago, can’t remember where. Glad he wasn’t into major crime!
