    I'm not sure if I am on the right section!

    Hi
    Does anyone know how long the GRO site will be off line. As I have been unable to log in since friday evening. It just times out!

    I don't seem to have a problem. As I don't have the GRO bookmarked I just search Google for GRO and open from there.

    I've just clicked on my bookmark, and like Tomm I got 'timed out'.

    The answer to your question Tomm, is - don't know. Could be 10 minutes, 10 hours, or even (though hopefully not) 10 days.

    I presume that your query can't be answered by FreeBMD. FMP, or Ancestry. (Obviously not, if you're applying for a certificate.)

    This is the announcement I get when I tried to use the site:

    Service Announcement

    The online certificate ordering service is currently unavailable whilst we perform scheduled maintenance -
    If you need to place an urgent certificate order please contact us on +44 (0)300 123 1837 (8am to 8pm Monday to Friday. Saturday 9am to 4pm), otherwise we would ask for your patience until the service is restored.

    That's what I get now, as opposed to the 'timed out' message earlier.

    Thanks to you both for your help in finding the answer to the the GRO time out problem.
    I am quite surprised that the GRO did not let the people know before hand...
