A Margaret Perry married John Topping in Wigan in 1844
John Topping married Sarah Baines in 1844, not Margaret Perry. She married Henry White Bertwisle and was recorded as Margaret Perry aged 32, spinster, father Joseph Perry, weaver.

The best I can come up with for Margaret marrying a Perry is this:
    2 July 1832 at Manchester
James Parry Bachelor/Coach Painter of this parish
    Margaret Daniels spinster otp
Wits: Thomas Parry & Sarah Daniels (Margaret had a sister named Sarah, baptised 1 Jan 1816)
Margaret & Sarah both signed X

Followed by this baptism, but with the wrong name for the mother:
23 Jun 1833 All Saints, Wigan, Lancashire, England
Sarah Ann Perry - 1st Daur. of James Perry & Ann
    Born: 21 May
    Abode: Hallgate
    Occupation: Painter

I can't see any more baptisms to this couple, but baptised on the same day was Mary Ann, 5th daur of James & Elizabeth Daniel, Hallgate, Weaver.

If Margaret was already married to James Perry then this could be why there's no marriage to Robert Topping. And if Margaret & James Perry split up then perhaps Sarah Ann just wasn't sure of his name?

Lots of ifs, buts & maybe's!
