Oh no. Guy was one of the first to help me get started. His expertise was amazing, and he will be missed.

Very sorry to hear about Guy. He always talked such good sense. You need people who are well grounded and knowledgable to contribute as he did over the years.

A great loss to his own Family, but also with his depth of knowledge and expertise, to genealogy researchers everywhere.

He had an almost lifelong dedication to family history, both his own and through his efforts to have records made available to fellow researchers. Thank you, Guy - whether we know it or not, we are all in your debt.

As everyone has already said, Guy's death is a sad loss to the genealogy community. RIP Guy, and my condolences to your family and friends.
I need a lot more than the paltry twenty fingers and toes I have to count the number of times I accessed his main amazing website, though I've now found he had another for tombstones and monumental inscriptions which I may also have looked at at some time in the distant past but can't remember.
For anyone who hasn't heard of them

If any of the links don't work, follow Guy's own advice and use the Wayback Machine.

When I tried his sites earlier, I couldn’t get a reply. I suggest that people make a note of the urls that Pam has provided as the Wayback Machine will as for them.
