I am trying to find out if anyone who is descended from the Steeles who lived around Cheshire County have taken a YDNA test. I can trace my Steele family back to colonial Virginia, but the only "Steele" I matched is a cousin who is from the same line.
All of my other matches are either from Wales, or have Welsh patronymic surnames. Therefore, I'm trying to figure out of my line may have come from the Cheshire area, since there seems to have been quite a few Steele families there prior to the American colonial period.
Best regards,
Ed Steele
