Has anyone any idea what "Taken out by P.6 (or maybe a C) 200.R" which shows in the remarks column against a person I am researching means?

PC = Police Constable.

I think I have seen something like that before. Have you got the corresponding admission?

Just found a reference to a workhouse inmate who was "brought in by PC123" and subsequently "taken out by PC345"

The letter after the PC number would refer to the division or station or something like that.

Found another entry:

Joseph Barron born 1888 (30 March) admitted 05/03/1900 bought by PC 200R

Joseph Barron Discharged 08/03/1900

London, Greenwich.

Also found a school admission dated 02/02/96. I know this is correct as his father's occupation is Rag Sorter. Just have to confirm the workhouse entries are the same Joseph in the tree I am researching.

Thanks to everyone, now I know it is Police Constable. Just wonder what Joseph was up too!

That ties up. From Wikipedia, "R" refers to Greenwich Metropolitan Police Division.
